The University of Wisconsin Alpine Team weathered a wet weekend in Duluth at the Minnesota Governor's Cup. The weekend's heavy wet snow, sleet, and rain created deep ruts, and low visibility for racers.
Racers struggled with the tough conditions but finished strong. In the giant slalom the men finished one-hundredth faster than the University of Minnesota Duluth to finish second. Jake Kastner and Joe Kutschenreuter led the men finishing eighth and ninth, respectively. Janelle Schofield led the women with a podium finish for third in GS and the Women's team finished fourth. In Sunday's slalom, both teams finished in fourth with Kastner snagging a fifth place finish and Schofield placing ninth. The Badger Snowboarders dominated the field, with Julia Amundson finishing first and Grace Burgio finishing third in the women's event. Male snowboarders Billy Graf and Brad Harris took first and second places. As always complete (and live) results can be found at live-timing.com
