Remember, some of the duties of the Captains include:

• Helping guide on-hill practices
• Ensuring the team comes together as a unit
• Helping prepare the team for competition on race days
• Working with the coaches to define a run order

One thing to note; the nominees were given an outline of questions to follow for their statement.

• Why do you want to be captain, and what would make you a good captain?
• How do you define a successful season for the team, and will you attempt to focus the team on anything to make that happen?
• How do you approach a situation where different people on the team want to do different things at different times? For example: some people want to stay out later at night, or some people want to go to the hill earlier in the morning before a race.
• What would be the most challenging part of being captain and how would you overcome that challenge?”
• What else would you like to add to your statement?
