To cap off a great regular season of ski racing, the UW Alpine Team had a successful weekend at Regionals. Consistent with the season’s weekly top three performances, the UW women's Alpine racing team placed 3rd at the regional championships in Marquette Michigan to advance to the national championships. After an exciting and nerve-racking weekend of racing, both the Women’s Alpine ski team, and the Women’s snowboard team qualified for the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association's National Championships. The event is right around the corner, the first week of March, held at Sunday River, Maine.

This year marks the first time the UW Alpine Women’s team has made the trip to the National Championships since 1997.

The days leading up to the event will be a busy time for those on the team preparing to be absent for class, train for the race, and raise funds to pay for the trip. As you probably know as a supporter of the team, the Alpine team gets the vast majority of their fund-raising from student racer dues as well as athlete participation in fundraisers. Monetary contributions from alum, parents, family and friends of the team also play a significant role.

To enable the team to represent the University of Wisconsin, and the Midwest on a national stage, please consider making a donation to the team to help fund the trip to nationals. The Alpine Team is a non-profit organization and donations may be tax deductible. The costs of transportation across the country, registration and racer fees, and lodging add up quickly, and any donation you can make will help and will be greatly appreciated.
